This Week in Aortic Surgery July 22, 2019 - July 28, 2019
“This Week in Aortic Surgery” provides a weekly snapshot of newly published research studies selected from leading peer-reviewed scientific publications in the fields of Cardiac Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology and Interventional Cardiology.
The concept of selecting important research articles to review at regular intervals is a virtual “Journal Club”-type teaching conference which is integral to the education and training of medical students, interns, residents and fellows-in-training at leading academic medical centers across the world.
Staying abreast of newly published research articles in aortic surgery is important for understanding new advances about where the field is evolving as well as giving us useful information in which to re-examine our own practices and quality outcomes.
The topics for the selected research studies focuses on the surgical and interventional management of complex aortic disease: aortic valve disease, aortic root aneurysms, aortic dissections and aortic aneurysms of the ascending aorta, aortic arch, thoracoabdominal aorta and the abdominal aorta.

If you have any suggestions or recommendations for a recently published research study in aortic surgery or aortic disease management that you think would be good for us to include, please send me a note with information about the study and I will gladly consider including it in my weekly roundup.
